Blanka Vlašić
Biography
Born in Split 8.11.1983. as the oldest child in the sport family (mom Venera was a cross-country athlete, a basketball player and a gymnast, and father Joško was an athlete, decathlon athlete, the current record holder of Croatia).
She was named after the Moroccan city Casablanca where her father in 1983. won a gold medal at the Mediterranean games. She has three brothers, the oldest is Marin, former basketball player, while the youngest Nikola is an exceptional football talent. Blanka’s sport talent was there early. She began to train athletics with 7 years, with her father who worked as a coach in an athletic club. Her merrits were the speed and excellent coordination.
